Gadkari proposes 10% GST hike on diesel-powered vehicles

Union road transport minister Nitin Gadkari plans to propose an additional 10% GST on diesel-powered vehicles in order to discourage their production. Gadkari also urged automobile companies to take action themselves, or else the government will increase taxes to the point where diesel vehicles cannot be sold. He emphasized the need to shift to cleaner fuel alternatives to reduce pollution and carbon emissions.
