Aviation growth: Govt sets target of 350 airports by 2047, Union minister says states and smaller cities will drive expansion
Monday, 25 August 2025 () Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu Kinjarapu announced the ambitious goal of building 350 airports in India by 2047, supporting the 'Viksit Bharat' vision. He highlighted the rapid growth of the civil aviation sector and the development of 88 new airports in the last 11 years, particularly in tier two and three cities.
