Monday, 14 August 2023 The film "Barbie" secured the top spot in North American box offices for the fourth consecutive week, receiving an estimated $33.7 million this weekend and bringing its domestic total to $526 million. With a worldwide taking of $1.2bn, director Greta Gerwig's movie broke industry records to become the first solo woman to earn over $1bn at the global box office. Gerwig also became the highest-grossing woman director of all time in the domestic market. "Oppenheimer" regained its second-place position, earning an estimated $18.8 million, whilst "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem" took third place with $15.8 million.
