Karan Johar reveals on Koffee With Karan that Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra, who were assistant directors on the sets of 'My Name Is Khan', used to sell Shah Rukh Khan's photos to fans. He shares a humorous incident where the boys were giving photographs to the eager crowd in UCLA. Karan also mentions their romantic involvement with members of the costume department, which almost got them sent home. After working as ADs, Varun and Sidharth made their film debuts in KJo's 'Student Of The Year'.
