Hostage-release deal could see Israel-Hamas war 'paused for two months'
Sunday, 28 January 2024 Israel's war against Hamas could be paused for two months should US negotiators reach a deal where dozens of hostages captured in the 7 October attack would be released, according to two senior administration officials.

Ismail Haniyeh, representing Hamas, informed Qatari and Egyptian officials of the group's approval of the ceasefire. However, Israel's Prime Minister Netanyahu's office stated that the proposed deal falls short of Israel's demands but will still send a delegation for negotiations.
