Premier League star banned over 'Gibraltar is Spanish' chant
Wednesday, 7 August 2024 Manchester City star Rodri and his Spain teammate and captain Alvaro Morata have been banned for one match by UEFA for chanting "Gibraltar is Spanish" as they celebrated winning Euro 2024.
An excited atmosphere could be felt in Anfield in the build up to the match, but that was soon replaced by an anxious energy when ex-Liverpool striker Dominic Solanke landed a goal just 12 minutes into the match.
