Sir David Amess's family 'betrayed and angry' as govt refuse inquiry
Monday, 10 March 2025 Sir David Amess's daughter has said the government's decision to not hold a national inquiry into his murder has left his family "betrayed and angry".

Chris Philp has joined the daughter of Sir David Amess to call for a public inquiry into his death. It comes just two days after Home Secretary Yvette Cooper rejected the MP's family's calls for the inquiry. Speaking during a meeting with the daughter of the late MP, Mr Philp said: "We do need to properly get to the bottom of the systemic failings in the Prevent system and only a proper inquiry can do that."
