Palestine Action to be banned after break in at RAF base, Sky News understands
Friday, 20 June 2025 () The home secretary is planning to proscribe the Palestine Action group, effectively branding them as a terrorist organisation, Sky News understands.
Members of a pro-Palestinian activist group have broken into a military base and damaged two aircrafts.
Two Palestine Action activists broke into RAF Brize Norton in Carterton, Oxfordshire, on e-scooters and sprayed red paint on two planes.
The group said the incident took place due to flights departing daily from the base to RAF Akrotiri in Cyprus, "a base used for military operations in Gaza and across the Middle East".

The defence secretary has paid a visit to a Royal Air Force station following his pledge to ramp up defence spending this week. John Healey flew in an army helicopter and operated a drone during the visit to RAF Northolt in South Ruislip in London on Tuesday.

Oxfordshire's chief fire officer gives an emotional statement at the scene of a fire which claimed the lives of two firefighters and a member of the public at a former RAF base in Bicester. Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Serviceβs Chief Fire Officer Rob MacDougall says, βit is with a very heavy heart that we today report the loss of two of our firefighters. A member of the public has also sadly died in the incident.β
