Court rejects Pragya exemption plea, says reason 'not genuine'

A special NIA court on Thursday rejected 2008 Malegaon blast accused and newly-elected MP Pragya Thakur's plea for prolonged exemption from appearing before it, terming the grounds "not genuine". In her plea seeking exemption, Thakur cited her new role as MP from Bhopal, her need to attend Parliament until July 26 and "duties towards serving the people."
