Monday, 13 January 2020 Congress president Sonia Gandhi accused PM Modi and home minister Amit Shah of misleading people on the amended Citizenship Act and the NRC, and remaining "insensitive to state suppression and violence". "The immediate cause is the CAA and NRC but they reflect widespread frustration and pent up anger, which is now out in the open. The response of the police in UP and Delhi has been shockingly partisan and brutal," the Congress chief said.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah chaired first meeting of National Implementation Committee of India in Delhi on November 25. Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Union Minister of State (I/C) for Culture and Tourism, Prahlad Singh Pate were also present.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting with Chief Ministers over the COVID-19 situation. Union Home Minister Amit Shah also participated in the meeting. The meeting was held via video-conferencing. "As a result of joint efforts, today India is in a better situation than other countries when it comes to recovery and fatality rates," said PM Modi.
AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi has hit back at BJP leader Tejasvi Surya who said likened him to Jinnah and accused him of spreading rabid Islamism and allowing Rohingya Muslims to settle in Hyderabad. Senior Congress leader Ahmed Patel, who was undergoing treatment at a Gurugram hospital after testing positive for COVID-19, breathed his last after multi-organ failure in the wee hours of November 25 (Wednesday), his son Faisal confirmed. Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid his tribute to Ahmed Patel and tweeted-"Saddened by demise of Ahmed Patel Ji. He spent years in public life, serving society. Known for his sharp mind, his role in strengthening the Congress party would always be remembered. Spoke to his son Faisal and expressed the condolences. May Ahmed Bhai's soul rest in peace."Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra expressed grief over the demise of Ahmed Patel and tweeted, "His passing away leaves an immense void."Rahul Gandhi also expressed condolences over the passing away of senior party leader Ahmed Patel and tweeted, "He was a tremendous asset." He was 71-year-old. Patel, was also the Treasurer of the Indian National Congress, had tested positive for the COVID-19 on October 01 and was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Medanta Hospital in Gurugram on November 15. On October 1, Patel, while disclosing that he was tested positive for the COVID-19, had urged all those who came in contact with him in past few days to undergo self-isolation. Congress president Sonia Gandhi paid tribute on death of Ahmed Patel and said, "In Shri Ahmed Patel, I have lost a colleague, whose entire life was dedicated to Congress. In a tweet, his son, Faisal Patel confirmed that the Rajya Sabha MP died at 3.30 AM. He was admitted to Gurugram’s Medanta Hospital on November 15. On October 1, Patel announced on Twitter that he had contracted coronavirus. Patel is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter. PM Modi shared his condolences upon hearing the news of Patel’s death. He tweeted: ‘May Ahmed Bhai’s soul rest in peace’. Rahul Gandhi also took to Twitter sharing his condolences. Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also condoled the demise of Patel.

"Why should not the university do an analysis of local skills, courses related to local products, and skill development in districts that fall under its academic limits? The university can do research on local products and modern solutions needed for value addition. Branding, marketing, and strategies related to the management of the local products can be part of your course," said PM Modi.

Farmer groups are heading towards Delhi to protest against amended farm laws on November 25. Group of farmers reached Ludhiana's Ladhowal Toll Plaza. "We're against recent farm laws. Our slogan is 'ghera dalo, dera dalo' which is what we'll do in Delhi. We've water tankers, will sleep in trolleys, also carrying a month's ration," said a protestor. Meanwhile, Police used water cannon to disperse farmers who have gathered in Kurukshetra to proceed to Delhi to stage a demonstration.
