Delhi Police arrested a man, Mudit Chawla, for allegedly duping a woman of Rs 17 lakh after meeting her on a matrimonial site. Speaking to ANI about the incident, DCP North West, Vijayanta Arya said, "He is Mudit Chawla. A woman had filed a complaint that she had come in contact with him through Shaadi.com website and he duped her of Rs 17 lakh after befriending her. We have come to know that he was arrested on four different occasions earlier in connection with four cases of similar nature. He changes his name and address regularly. We have also seized his IDs and Aadhaar cards with different names from his possession."
An attempt was made to kidnap a 4 - year - old girl in East Delhi's Shakarpur area on July 21. The girl's mother clashed with the kidnappers and rescued her. Delhi Police have arrested two persons in case. CCTV camera captured the incident. According to the video captured on CCTV, two bike - borne kidnappers with helmets tried to kidnap the minor. A priest and 15 police personnel have tested positive for Covid-19 in the Ram Janmabhoomi complex. This comes ahead of the groundbreaking ceremony scheduled to be held in the Ayodhya on August 5. The priest who performs daily rituals at the temple had tested positive. The policemen who tested positive were deployed at the Ram Temple site for security. A top priest Mahant Kamal Nayan das said there is nothing to worry as the campus is being sanitized on a daily basis. Earlier, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had visited the temple town to check preparedness ahead of the mega event. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Ayodhya for the bhoomi pujan event on August 5. Temple’s Trust has invited some 200 people for the event in view of Covid-19. Earlier, Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray had suggested that the bhoomi pujan event should be conducted via video conference. Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) had lashed out at the Maharashtra CM over his suggestion.

The health ministry in its briefing on Covid-19 situation said that over 1 million people have recovered from Covid infection in the country. Addressing the media, Secretary in the Health Ministry Rajesh Bhushan said that India salutes doctors, nurses and healthcare workers who have made this possible. The top official also spoke on herd immunity and said that it is not a feasible option in a country as large as India. He added that herd immunity in India would means lakhs of people would have to be infected, get hospitalised and many would die in the process. The Health Ministry also gave an update on the vaccines that are on trial across the world. 'Three vaccine candidates are in phase 3 clinical trial in the US, UK and China. In India, two indigenously developed vaccine candidates are in phase I and II of clinical trials. Trial of the first vaccine involves 1,150 subjects at eight sites, second on 1,000 subjects at five sites', Bhushan said. Watch the full video for all the details.
