Lalu Prasad tests negative for Covid-19; three of his attendants diagnosed positive
Monday, 27 July 2020 () Jailed RJD chief Lalu Prasad, currently undergoing treatment at a Ranchi hospital for multiple ailments, has tested negative for Covid-19, a senior doctor at the facility said on Monday.
Former Chief Minister of Bihar, Lalu Prasad Yadav has been shifted to the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) director's bungalow on Wednesday (Aug 05) in view of his clinical safety arising from the spurt in Covid-19 infection. RIMS had written to Birsa Munda Jail authority seeking his shifting as ward where he was receiving treatment was converted into COVID ward.The total number of 8,648 active cases has been recorded so far in Jharkhand till Wednesday evening. Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, is serving a jail term after being convicted in the fodder scam cases and was admitted to the RIMS with kidney problem.
Bihar Assembly's opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav lashed out at Chief Minister Nitish Kumar-led government on July 2 during an event, while also admitting the mistakes done during the rule of his father and former CM Lalu Prasad Yadav. The RJD leader said, "We were in power for 15 years, but I was not there, I was small then. No one can deny that during Lalu ji's tenure he did not do social justice. In these 15 years, we may have also done mistakes and we apologise for them" On Nitish Kumar, RJD leader questioned Nitish Kumar on the fulfilment of promises made by him over providing employment, stopping getaway and improving the condition of farmers.

In international news, the discovery of a new case after 102 days in New Zealand has led the Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern, to say that postponement of the upcoming general elections is a possibility. Meanwhile, the Russian government said that the first batch of its Covid vaccine is likely to be released within two weeks. Russia has become the first country to declare a vaccine ready for use. Hyderabad police personnel reported back to duty after recovering from coronavirus. At least 216 police personnel have come back on duty. They have received guard of honor. Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar also came to encourage the officials.

He said, "On one hand, CM was inaugurating Bangra Ghat Mahasetu in Gopalganj and on the other hand, approach path to the bridge has collapsed. Same path had collapsed 12 days ago also. While speaking to ANI in Patna on August 04, the leader of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Tejashwi Yadav spoke on Bihar government recommending Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe in Sushant Singh Rajput's death case. He said, "RJD was the first party to demand CBI probe, we strongly raised this demand in the state assembly also." "A court-monitored CBI probe would be better," Yadav added.
