‘BSP will give Covid vaccine for free in UP if it comes to power’: Mayawati

BSP chief Mayawati, while welcoming the COVID-19 inoculation drive beginning Saturday, requested the Centre to provide the vaccine for free to the common man. She said if that does not happen, then the respective state governments should ensure that people get the vaccine for free. She said if her party comes to power in Uttar Pradesh, then it will ensure that everyone gets tot coronavirus vaccine for free. According to the government, the shots will be offered first to an estimated one crore healthcare workers, and around two crore frontline workers, and then to persons above 50 years of age, followed by persons younger than 50 years of age with associated comorbidities. Mayawati launches book on her 65th birthday

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati has launched a book in the national capital. She launched the book on the occasion of her 65th birthday on January 15. The book is written in two languages-English and Hindi. Book titled- 'A travelogue of my struggle-ridden life and BSP movement' in English and 'Mere sangharshmay jeewan evam BSP movement ka safarnaama' in Hindi were launched.

Artisans display their skills at'Women Empowerment Fair' organises in Aligarh

Ganga cleaning campaign launched in Varanasi

District administration with the help of several organisations launched a massive cleaning campaign of Ganga in UP's Varanasi on March 07. As many as 84 Ghats were cleaned up during the campaign. Volunteers took an oath to ensure clean and neat Ganga.

Noida teen, depressed over skin colour, jumps to death from 15th floor

A class 11 student jumped off his 15th-floor apartment and died in UP's Noida. The teen was allegedly battling depression due to his physical looks, skin complexion. The local Sector 49 police station was alerted around 5 am about the incident. Police said the body was sent for autopsy and no complaint has been made by the family. Ranvijay Singh, ADCP, Noida said, “A 17-year-old kid jumped off his apartment and died in Noida Sector 78. His parents said their son had been battling depression due to his skin complexion. The boy's parents were living separately and he was staying with his father.”

Will meet national party leadership when they would call me: CM Rawat

While speaking to media in the national capital on March 08, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat spoke on the current political crisis in the state. CM Rawat said, "I don't know what you (media) are saying but I have sought time from the national party leadership. I will go to meet them when they would call me."

First women's ski mountaineering games held in Gulmarg

The first ski mountaineering games for women was organised at Gulamarg. JandK offers perfect conditions for skiing. The game was organized for the promotion of adventure sports as well as adventure tourism. Adventure Tour Operators Association of Kashmir (ATOK) in collaboration with the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council organized the sporting event. Adventure enthusiasts from Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Uttarakhand participated in the game.
