Cyclone Biparjoy: Planes secured, teams on standby at Ahmedabad airport

Soon after Cyclone Biparjoy hit the Gujarat coast late on Thursday, light to moderate rainfall lashed parts of Ahmedabad. A series of precautionary measures were taken by the airport operator at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International (SVPI) airport in Ahmedabad. In line with aviation protocols, smaller aircraft were secured using moorings whereas chokes and extra brakes were used on large aircraft parked at the SVPI airport to prevent the high-velocity cyclonic winds from displacing them.
