Eight concrete buildings, most less than 10 years old, fell like dominoes at Anni in Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh at around 9.30 am on Thursday morning, amid a cloud of voluminous dust and the thuds of rolling debris, evoking an apocalyptic imagery for panicked residents fleeing the scene.
