Progress on climate goals inadequate: UN

IndiaTimes Saturday, 9 September 2023
Sending a strong message just ahead of the G20 leaders' summit, the UN climate body on Friday said there is a rapidly closing window to raise ambitions in order to limit warming to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels, and "progress is still inadequate" based on the best available science. It pitched for peaking global emissions by 2025 and cutting emissions 43% by 2030 from 2019 levels to close the gap.
