Uttarakhand madrassas to teach both Sanskrit & Islamic studies

IndiaTimes Wednesday, 13 September 2023
The Uttarakhand Waqf Board decided to introduce a "hybrid model" of education, which includes Sanskrit, in madrassas registered with the board. As part of an ambitious pilot project, the model will be initially implemented in four madrassas of the state. Board CEO Shiraz Hussain said on Tuesday, "Till now, only theology related to Islamic studies along with Arabic was taught in 117 madrassas registered with UWB. But now, classes will cover the NCERT syllabus and will be taught Sanskrit as well."
