Three more deputy CMs in Karnataka? Minister's suggestion creates buzz

IndiaTimes Sunday, 17 September 2023
Cooperation Minister KN Rajanna has suggested appointing three more deputy chief ministers in Karnataka, representing the Veerashaiva-Lingayat, SC/ST, and minority communities. Rajanna believes that this move will help the Congress party in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Some speculate that Rajanna's statement is a response to recent criticism of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah by MLC BK Hariprasad, who is aligned with Deputy CM DK Shivakumar. It is also seen as a way for Siddaramaiah's camp to counter Shivakumar's influence and keep him in check.
