No more imported dye for Covid RT-PCR test kit as CDRI develops desi ‘GreenR’

India's CSIR-Central Drug Research Institute has developed a locally-made DNA Gel stain called 'GreenR', eliminating the need to import the dye used in RT-PCR tests for Covid-19 detection. The innovation is expected to reduce reliance on imports and provide a cost-effective alternative.
