NIA crackdown on terror-gangster-smuggler nexus; several detained after raids in 6 states

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Wednesday detained several suspects as part of a multi-state crackdown on the nexus among terrorists, gangsters and drug smugglers connected to Canada-based designated terrorist Arsh Dalla and other dreaded gangsters. As many as 53 locations across six states were subjected to raids.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) apprehended two suspects - Mussavir Hussain Shazib and Abdul Matheen Taha - in connection with Bengaluru's Rameswaram Cafe blast case on Friday. The two were nabbed near West Bengal's Kolkata. Mussavir Hussain Shazib has been identified as the alleged "mastermind" behind the low-intensity blast that occurred at a prominent eatery in Bengaluru on March 1.
