Not just a meaty affair: Carrot, broccoli in Kolkata Police dog squad diet

IndiaTimes Monday, 2 October 2023
The Kolkata Police provides a balanced diet to each member of its dog squad, which consists of 42 canines. The dogs are given about 3 kilograms of vegetables per month, along with 13 other food items. Trained cooks prepare food for the dogs twice daily to ensure they receive proper nutrition. The annual contract for raw food items is only floated after the diet plan is prepared by experts. The dogs are given a variety of food, including carrots, broccoli, eggs, meat, curd, rice, and pulses. They are also provided with boneless meat and good quality bones.
