Toll goes up to 35 as Maharashtra govt says every death in Nanded hospital will be probed
Wednesday, 4 October 2023 The Maharashtra medical education minister, Hasan Mushrif, has announced that an investigation will be conducted into every death at the Nanded civil hospital since September 30. The hospital has reported 24 deaths, including 12 newborns, between September 30 and October 1. The number of deaths at the Nanded Government Medical College and Hospital has increased to 35. A high-level committee has been formed to investigate the deaths, and the Maharashtra government has stated that appropriate action will be taken. There are no reported shortages of medicines or staff at the hospital.
