Ajit Pawar, the deputy CM of Maharashtra, has been appointed as the guardian minister for Pune, replacing BJP leader Chandrakant Patil. This move is seen as a victory for Pawar in his ongoing power struggle with Patil. Pawar, along with seven other NCP ministers, has been given responsibility for various districts in the state. However, three key districts are still without appointments, as both the Shiv Sena and Pawar's NCP faction have staked claim to the positions.
