National Green Tribunal takes suo motu cognisance of media reports highlighting deteriorating air quality in Delhi
The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has taken suo motu cognizance of media reports regarding the deteriorating air quality in Delhi. The NGT has sought an Action Taken Report from the Centre, Delhi Government, and Municipal Corporation of Delhi. The matter will be heard on November 8, 2023. The reports highlighted that the air quality in Delhi had deteriorated to a "poor" level, with violations of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) in relation to construction activities leading to dust pollution.
