Bank penalised for denying Amazon reward points

IndiaTimes Sunday, 22 October 2023
A man from Chennai fought a legal battle against ICICI Bank for two years and won compensation. The bank was ordered to pay him 41,691 rupees in reward points and an additional 35,000 rupees for deficiency in service, mental agony, and litigation expenses. The dispute arose when the bank did not reflect the reward points on the man's statement after he made a jewelry purchase on Amazon using his ICICI credit card. The bank blocked his card without prior notice and claimed the reward points were on hold due to commercial use, which the man disputed.
