40-year-old 1st Indian to win 2 World Masters Powerlifting gold
Dr. Sharvari Inamdar, a 40-year-old mother of two from Pune, India, has become the only Indian to win two gold medals in the annual World Masters Powerlifting championship held in Mongolia. Competing in the 57kg category, Inamdar lifted a total of 350kg to secure the gold medal. She also achieved a total of 395kg in the 'equipped' category, earning her the second rank in the International Powerlifting Federation's 'Best Lifters of Masters/Strong Woman' title. Inamdar's mother, Dr. Purna Bharde, also won bronze medals in the 60-plus age category at the championship.
