In Noida, 8-year-old tells parents about ‘bad touch’, guard detained
Tuesday, 24 October 2023 A security guard in Noida was detained after an 8-year-old girl accused him of harassment. CCTV footage is being reviewed, but no official complaint has been filed yet. The incident highlights the issue of crimes against children, with nearly 1.5 lakh cases registered in 2021, according to the National Crime Records Bureau. Uttar Pradesh had the highest number of cases, followed by Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka. In separate cases, a man in Maharashtra was sentenced to 10 years for sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl, and a 14-year-old girl was arrested for murder in the Bronx.
