IndiaTimes Saturday, 4 November 2023
The PM2.5 level in Delhi's Anand Vihar area reached 1,985 micrograms per cubic meter, which is 33 times higher than the national air quality standards and 132 times higher than the WHO safe guideline. However, the level improved within an hour. Other areas in Delhi, such as Rohini and Narela, also recorded high PM2.5 levels. The Central Pollution Control Board reported that several monitoring stations had an air quality index (AQI) above 490, with RK Puram reaching the maximum AQI of 500. Efforts to control pollution at the local and regional levels are crucial.
