IIT-B's startup incubator scores 220 in 20 yrs, plans next innings

The Society for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (SINE), an incubator at IIT-Bombay, is working to elevate Mumbai's startup ecosystem to the number one position in India. SINE plans to develop an aggregator platform called SINEdge to help startups reach a wider audience and reduce their gestation period. The platform aims to connect entrepreneurs, investors, corporates, and mentors, creating an ecosystem for collaboration and growth. SINE's success can be attributed to its autonomous structure and focus on entrepreneurship. Other academic institutions should replicate this model by establishing independent boards and granting autonomy to their incubation cells.
