Chhattisgarh Congress mayor suspended over 'ticket' sale row

IndiaTimes Saturday, 11 November 2023
The Chhattisgarh Congress has suspended party leader and Bilaspur mayor Ramsharan Yadav for alleged anti-party activities. An audio clip surfaced on social media, suggesting that Congress tickets were sold for up to Rs 4 crore. Yadav was issued a showcause notice but his response was deemed unsatisfactory, leading to his suspension. Former Congress legislator Arun Tiwari, who is now contesting as an Independent, released the audio clip, claiming that senior leaders received money for tickets. Yadav denied the allegations, stating that he never had a conversation about ticket distribution with Tiwari.
