Medical college doctors protest posting on Sabarimala duty

IndiaTimes Wednesday, 15 November 2023
Over 150 doctors, including assistant professors and senior residents, have been temporarily posted at Konni Medical College Hospital (MCH) for the Sabarimala pilgrimage season in Kerala. This move has been criticized by some doctors who believe it is an attempt to cover up deficiencies at Konni MCH. The Kerala Government Medical College Teachers Association (KGMCTA) is opposing the postings, stating that they will impact tertiary care and academic sessions at the colleges. The doctors transferred are from various MCHs in Thiruvananthapuram, Kottayam, Alappuzha, Manjeri, and Ernakulam.
