Truck carrying machine lands in gorge, 1 dead

A truck carrying a drill machine from Dehradun to the tunnel site fell into a deep gorge near the Gujrada bridge on the Rishikesh-Gangotri highway in Tehri Garhwal district. Rescue workers from various national and state agencies are working against time to quickly evacuate 41 trapped workers in Silkyara, Uttarkashi. Three guys were inside the truck when the accident happened on the Ranipokhri-Narendra Nagar bypass on Sunday, according to the police.
