Maruti Suzuki’s fifth plant likely to be set up in Gujarat

Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) is planning to launch its fifth car manufacturing plant in Gujarat, as part of its goal to double production capacity by 2030-31. If the plan goes ahead, Gujarat could benefit from an investment of Rs 20,000 crore. The potential locations for the new plant include the Mandal-Becharaji Special Investment Region (MBSIR) and Hansalpur. MSIL is also acquiring a 100% stake in the Suzuki Motor Gujarat (SMG) plant in Hansalpur, which is expected to be completed by March 2024.
