One of the IITs to act on 'caste profiling for jobs', others vague

One of the IITs is addressing complaints about discriminatory practices during campus placements by reevaluating their processes and planning to issue guidelines to recruiters next year. The current year's placement process has already begun, but interviews will start in December. Two complaints were filed alleging that some IITs and recruiters sought caste and JEE rank details. IIT Bombay and IIT Delhi clarified that they do not ask for JEE ranks in their forms, but some students voluntarily include them in their resumes. IIT Kanpur stated that it is committed to providing equal career opportunities and is investigating the complaints.
