Maha tiger covers 2,000 km crosses 4 states to reach Odisha

IndiaTimes Thursday, 23 November 2023
A male tiger from Tadoba landscape in Bramhapuri in Maharashtra travelled around 2,000 km to reach Odisha, traversing forests across 4 states in search of a safe territory and a mate, reports Vijay Pinjarkar. Generally, forest departments come to know about such dispersal only when tigers are radio-collared, but the one from Bramhapuri in Vidarbha was not radio-collared and was identified by the pattern of its stripes. This may likely be the 2nd-longest tiger dispersal in the country.
