IndiaTimes Friday, 24 November 2023
A fire broke out in a 24-storey Mhada building in Ghodapdev, Byculla, causing suffocation to eleven people. The blaze started in the electrical duct on the ground floor and spread up to the 24th floor. No flats were damaged, and all 135 residents were safely evacuated. The cause of the fire is suspected to be a short-circuit. The building's fire-fighting system was not operational, and the fire brigade is likely to issue a compliance notice before restoring the power connection.
