Men to clear path in last lap of tunnel rescue operation

IndiaTimes Friday, 24 November 2023
The long wait for the 41 workers trapped inside the partially-collapsed Silkyara tunnel in Uttarkashi for almost a fortnight may stretch for a little more time, as the US-made auger machine, which is drilling through the debris to create an escape passage, stopped again on Friday evening after hitting another obstacle. β€œThe rescue timeline depends on any obstacles that may come in the way of drilling,” NDMA member Lt Gen (retd) Syed Ata Hasnain said at the official briefing.
