Digging vertically, how this Nagpur rescue team helped trapped Uttarakhand workers breath

A team from Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) played a crucial role in the rescue mission at the Uttarakhand tunnel. They used vertical drilling, similar to the method used in the Raniganj mine rescue. The team brought gas detectors to monitor oxygen levels and used huge fans to ensure the workers could breathe easily. WCL, a subsidiary of Coal India Limited (CIL), is known for its internationally acclaimed rescue department. They also worked on capsule designs for descending into the tunnel and have won prizes in rescue competitions.
