3 more years for fast-track courts trying rape and Pocso cases
The Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved continuation of the fast track special courts scheme for the next three years, till March 2026, for expeditious disposal of rape and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act cases. ββThe centrally sponsored scheme, which started in October 2019, will have a fresh allocation of Rs 1,952 crore, which includes states share of Rs 755 crore. The central share of Rs 1,200 crore will be contributed from the Nirbhaya fund.
