Ex-mayor says he’s not sorry for remarks on CM, Raut backs him

Former Mumbai mayor Datta Dalvi has been charged under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code for promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, etc. The complaint alleges that Dalvi used foul language against CM Shinde at a gathering of the UBT Sena's Konkan office-bearers. Dalvi defends his words, stating that they were not abusive and were actually used in a biopic about Sena leader Anand Dighe. Sena MP Sanjay Raut and MLA Sunil Raut have expressed support for Dalvi and criticized the arrest as a diversion from other issues.
