Blasphemy row spreads, NIT Srinagar declares early winter vacations
Protests at National Institute of Technology (NIT) in Srinagar over alleged blasphemous remarks targeting a particular religion by a student from outside J&K escalated on Thursday, spreading to other college campuses in the city. In response, NIT declared winter vacations from Thursday, ahead of the originally scheduled mid-December break, instructing students to vacate hostels immediately. It mentioned that all internal and semester-end exams will proceed according to schedule.
