IndiaTimes Saturday, 9 December 2023
Delhiites show an alarming increase in obesity, leading to various lifestyle-related diseases. A report by the Delhi government reveals that the percentage of obese women in Delhi has risen from 33.5% to 41.3% in the past few years. Men also saw a significant increase in obesity, from 24.6% to 38.0%. However, the city has witnessed positive changes in other health parameters, including a decrease in maternal mortality and anaemia among young women. Addressing this issue requires immediate action, focusing on lifestyle interventions, regular exercise, and dietary modifications.
