Tihar Jail to run outlet at petrol pump, inmates to man it

Delhi Prisons will revive its open jail system, starting with the opening of the first outlet to sell Tihar Jail products at a petrol pump in Masjid Moth. The outlet will be managed by prison inmates who have a record of good conduct and have completed most of their sentences. The partnership with Indian Oil Corporation Ltd will allow the sale of bakery products, clothing, paintings, furniture, candles, and other items made by prisoners. This initiative aims to provide revenue for Tihar and give inmates the opportunity to leave confinement.
