SFI activists protesting against governor Arif Mohammed Khan's vehicle at Raj Bhavan face non-bailable charges under IPC Sections 124 and 353. Cantonment police have registered a case against seven protesters who attempted to disrupt the governor's vehicle. Raj Bhavan insisted on adding Section 124, which deals with attempts to assault the President or governor. Khan accused police of facilitating violent protests and suggested that the protests were related to his demand for a financial crisis report.
