UP BJP MLA convicted of rape, set to lose House seat

BJP MLA Ramdular Gond is found guilty of raping a 15-year-old girl in 2014 and faces punishment under the Pocso Act. The court will announce the sentence on December 15. Gond, a first-time MLA, is taken into custody after his conviction by additional district judge Ehsan Ullah Khan. He is expected to lose his assembly membership as per the Supreme Court's ruling. The survivor's counsel reveals that Gond is convicted of rape, criminal intimidation, and other charges. The survivor's brother hopes for a minimum 20-year jail term.
