ITBP fortifies security at Kedarnath, Badrinath shrines for winter break

The Indo-Tibetan Border Force (ITBP) has assumed control of security for the sacred shrines of Kedarnath and Badrinath during their six-month winter closure. Each shrine now has a dedicated ITBP platoon stationed for heightened security. The ITBP deployment was sanctioned by the Union ministry of home affairs following concerns raised about the sanctity of the Kedarnath shrine. The ongoing reconstruction projects at Kedarnath and Badrinath, including the development of Kedarpuri, continue during the winter closure.
