Parliament security breach case: Accused Neelam Azad moves Delhi high court, calls police remand illegal
Neelam Azad, an accused in the December 13 Parliament security breach case, approached the Delhi High Court alleging illegal police remand. Azad claimed that not being allowed to consult a lawyer of her choice violated her fundamental rights. The trial court remanded her in police custody till January 5. The matter will be heard urgently by a vacation bench of the high court. Azad's family was not informed of her arrest and she was not allowed to meet any person, including advocates.
