Government issues directions to boost promotions of eligible officers with disabilities

IndiaTimes Thursday, 28 December 2023
The Centre has decided to grant 'notional promotion' to officers with benchmark disabilities from June 30, 2016. This decision is in line with the Supreme Court's directions & ensures financial benefits for these officers when they assume charge. Ministries and departments will create supernumerary posts to maintain seniority of other officials. The SC had directed the government to issue instructions on 'reservation in promotion', & now the DoPT has issued a memorandum to implement the same.
