Centre rejects Bengal’s R-Day tableau on Didi’s pet project for 3rd time in 8 years

IndiaTimes Friday, 29 December 2023
The Centre has rejected Bengal's proposed R-Day tableau highlighting Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's pet project, Kanyashree, for the third time in 8 years. This rejection has caused the Trinamool Cong govt to cry foul. The defence ministry usually screens proposals for R-Day tableaux, & Bengal's proposal was allegedly rejected before state officials could make a presentation. This is the fifth time the state's proposals for Republic Day tableaux have been denied, indicating the Centre's partisanship.
