IndiaTimes Wednesday, 3 January 2024
Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) is planning a transitoriented development plan for its phase-2 project, which includes developing properties around metro stations in three locations. These locations are Thirumangalam, Koyambedu, and Thirumayilai. In Thirumangalam, a 12-storey building will be constructed where metro trains will pass through and halt at the third floor station. CMRL will acquire a plot near Thirumangalam flyover for this purpose. The cost of building these stations is included in the phase-2 project, and CMRL will request funds from the state government for property development.
